Terms of Service

By using LegacySpoken you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language and they cover what we provide, what you own, and how we handle billing and cancellation.
1. What LegacySpoken provides
LegacySpoken provides a daily phone-call recording service. A friendly AI calls the grandparent you specify at the time you choose, captures their voice telling stories, saves the recording to your family vault, and delivers each story by SMS to every grandchild you add. The grandchildren can call a dedicated reply line to record their own response, which is saved alongside the original.
2. What you own
You own every recording. LegacySpoken is the storage and delivery service. The family is the rights holder. You can request a complete download of all recordings at any time. You can take the vault anywhere — including off our platform — at any time.
3. Subscription and billing
LegacySpoken is a monthly subscription. Plans are billed automatically each month on the date of your initial subscription via Stripe. We never store payment card information ourselves — Stripe handles all PCI-compliant payment processing.
New customers receive a 14-day free trial. We require a card to reserve your spot but charge nothing until day 15. We send a reminder email 3 days before the trial ends so you have time to decide.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the Settings page. There are no cancellation fees. If you cancel mid-month, your service continues through the end of the current billing period — we do not pro- rate refunds. After cancellation, your vault remains downloadable for 30 days. After 30 days, on your written request to hello@legacyspoken.com, we permanently delete your data.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use LegacySpoken to record any person who has not given consent to be recorded. You agree not to use the service to harass, defraud, or harm any person. We reserve the right to terminate any account that violates these terms or applicable law.
6. Service availability
We target 99.5% uptime. Scheduled maintenance windows are announced in advance on the dashboard and in the weekly digest email. We are not liable for missed calls caused by carrier outages, the recipient's phone being off, or other circumstances outside our control.
7. Limitation of liability
LegacySpoken is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
